On September 20, João de Macedo Vitorino participated on the Webinar Free Legal Aid, in collaboration with Pro Bono Portugal, where he talked a little bit about our experience in MACEDO VITORINO with Pro Bono work, what was like receiving First Firm of the Year award by Pro Bono Portugal on February 2, 2020 and being the first firm in the Pro Bono Portugal secondment program, which began in September 15, 2021.

A group of American attorneys from California visited Macedo Vitorinos’ premises.
Our partners Guilherme Dray and António de Macedo Vitorino received and presented them a general overview on Portugal, including its legal system and business opportunities.
This visit follows a previous one from a group of NYC’ lawyers and it is part the MVA’s partnership policy. These events will continue throughout 2020 with new groups of lawyers coming from Missouri, Nebraska, Dallas and Virginia.
António de Macedo Vitorino will be participating at the 3rd edition of the "NPL Iberian Forum", which will take place on October 11, at the Pestana Palace Hotel, in Lisbon.
The managing partner of Macedo Vitorino & Associados will moderate the session "Vision and expectations of the main advisors in the NPL market", where will be present the opinion and experience of the main advisors of the NPLs market and their best practices in order to encourage and make profitable the purchase and sale of debt portfolios.
Beside the session "Vision and expectations of the main advisors in the NPL market", at this forum will be analysed how technology and Big Data can favour the success of the purchase-sale operations in the different stages. Will also be shared the vision of suppliers, service providers and funds on this topic, making it possible to know the reality of this sector, which is still very active.

Last week the city of London received the "NPL Europe 2017 Summit", and Macedo Vitorino & Associados participated in the Portuguese block, represented by the managing partner António de Macedo Vitorino.
"Looking for a Solution for Portugal's NPL Problem" was presented by António, who discussed the reasons for Portugal present the third highest NPL rate in Europe (where we are and how did we get here?), the Portuguese Government’s proposals to solve the Portugal’s NPL problem (the Official Positions) and what the banks can do to solve the problem (the Way Forward).

Cláudia Martins, senior lawyer at Macedo Vitorino & Associados, was invited to be one of the speakers at the panel “Regulation and Data Protection: What Challenges and Implications?” of the 27th edition of the Digital Business Congress, organised by APDC.
